Continence and NDIS planning
The Continence Foundation of Australia want to ensure that NDIS participants have their continence management requirements adequately provided for in their NDIS plans. It is vital that anyone assisting in the development of NDIS plans, including NDIS planners, Local Area Coordinators or other service providers, understand the importance of taking into account participants' continence needs when formulating NDIS plans with participants to assist them to successfully achieve their goals.
The following video provides information for NDIS planners, Local Area Coordinators and other service providers about incontinence, the importance of continence assessments, continence products and aids and outlines why it is important for incontinence to be discussed as part of the NDIS planning process.
The helpline is staffed by a team of continence nurse advisers who provide information, advice and support to health professionals, carers and people with incontinence.
The Helpline is available to Australian residents, and operates 8am to 8pm (AEST) Mondays to Friday (except national public holidays).
